Our initial focus will be the St. Louis County area in Missouri.
J.O.R.D.A.N. Family Advocacy Foundation was created in loving memory of Jordan, the founder's little brother, who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. The exact cause of his death is uncertain but was believed to be heart-related. Jordan lived with dyslexia and ADHD, creating a meaningful connection between his memory and the children and families the Foundation seeks to serve.
Through personal experience navigating disability and special education services for her own children, the founder developed a deeper understanding of how difficult it can be for families to understand IEPs, 504 Plans, evaluations, accommodations, eligibility, procedural safeguards, and available community services.
The Foundation was created to help close that gap by giving families education, resources, encouragement, and support. His memory becomes our mission. His name becomes a voice for families. His legacy becomes a bridge to opportunity.
OUR VISION: We envision a community where every family raising a child with a disability has access to knowledge, resources, confidence, and support to advocate for their child's educational and developmental needs. We want children to be recognized for their abilities, individuality, dignity, and potential.
